Starting construction of Lac Hoa Wind Power Project (phase 1)
On December 31, 2019, in Lac Hoa commune, Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province, Soc Trang Provincial People’s Committee and Vinh Chau Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company held starting construction of Lac Hoa Wind Power Project (WPP phase 1).

The Lac Hoa WPP (phase 1) is developed on the coastal alluvial ground of Lac Hoa commune and ward 2 (Vinh Chau town).
The phase 1 of the project includes 8 wind turbines with a total capacity of 30MW (of which 6 turbines by a capacity of 3.8 MW each and 2 turbines by a capacity of 3.6 MW each), a 22/110 kV transformer substation with a capacity of 40MVA, 8.9 km of 110kV double circuit line and 02 110kV feeders at 110 kV Vinh Chau transformer substation for connecting WPP with the national power system.
Besides, there also will be constructed infrastructure including office building, operating and distributing houses, specialist and cadre rest houses, refectory, warehouse and sport area. All of the project will developed on a temporary land area of 11.5 ha and land area with a definite term use of 8 ha.
The total investment level of the project is estimated at 1.300 billion VND. It is expected that the phase 1 of the project will be connected with the national power system in the second quarter of 2021 with an annual average generation of 93 GWh and when the second phase completed the project will generate at least 160 GWh.
